Shape first. Pixels second.
Aspect ratio describes the relationship between width and height. Resolution describes the actual pixel dimensions. Two files can have the same shape and different levels of detail.
A 1920 × 1080 desktop background and a 3840 × 2160 export both use a 16:9 ratio. The larger file has more pixels, but an enlarged export does not automatically contain more original model detail.
A few useful starting points.
| Screen | Shape | Example export |
|---|---|---|
| Phone | 9:16 | 1080 × 1920 |
| Desktop | 16:9 | 1920 × 1080 |
| High-resolution desktop | 16:9 | 3840 × 2160 |
| Tablet | 4:3 | 2048 × 1536 |
| Ultrawide | 21:9 composition | 3440 × 1440 |
| Square | 1:1 | 2048 × 2048 |
These are practical presets, not a claim that every device has exactly these dimensions. Some phones use taller screens, and many ultrawide displays use a slightly different exact pixel ratio.
Original output and export are different.
The connected image model determines which native dimensions it supports. Some models accept standard size fields, some accept an aspect-ratio parameter, and some rely on the prompt. AIgenWalls displays the original dimensions after generation.
The studio download tool crops and resizes that original on your device. The export label describes the resulting file. If you need the unmodified model output, download the original from your collection or the wallpaper detail page.
Leave a little breathing room.
Different operating systems may zoom, crop, or shift a wallpaper. Keep important subjects away from the extreme edges. A phone clock may cover the upper part of the image, and a desktop taskbar may obscure the bottom.
Use the on-screen preview to inspect composition, then test the downloaded file on your actual device. The preview is a visual guide, not an exact simulation of every device setting.
Choose a file you can live with.
PNG preserves image detail without JPEG compression. JPEG usually creates a smaller download that is easier to share. The best choice depends on the image and the device.
Very large exports use more browser memory. If a mobile device cannot prepare a large file, choose a smaller preset or download the original. Try the size controls in the studio.
